I would recommend "A Man of His Word" as a good start.
However, it's a series. If you want a non-series... hm.
Possibly "The Cursed". I like his worldbuilding in general,
and like these in particular as good examples of it.
I'd be interested in other folks' entry points and rationale for same.

the same thing. If it is jargon, then the author's background building
is flawed.
The possibility that it is literally true and the character is right is
excluded for reasons of internal logical consistency. The possibility
that it's not literally true and the background isn't flawed is excluded

I've not read anything of his and am interested to know
what good starting points are, and what may be generally
held to be his best stuff.
By the way, I thought this had rolled around in this group
before, but I couldn't turn up anything close from the last
